It's a....

BOY!!!!!!
We are so excited that we are having another boy! We had an hour long ultrasound today so we got to see him for a nice long time. We got to see him in 2-D and 3-D. He looks pretty cute :0) Nicholas is excited for his baby brother to get here. Anytime we talk about the baby getting here, he starts looking around for him. We're all just ready for him to get here. It is going to be a long 18 weeks for all of us! Here are some pics from today...

The 3-D pics are crazy. If you look right in the middle, you can make out his cute little face :0) You can see some arms and legs off to the left. He had his legs and arms up by his face. There was a lot going on in front of his face, so we didn't get a super clear face shot. But, I'll take what we got!

Nicholas's News

Nicholas is going to be a BIG BROTHER!!!!!

I will keep you updated on the Blog now that all of our family knows. We had an ultrasound at 13 weeks for the 1st Trimester Screening and everything looked great. The picture of the baby is not the best, so we'll post one as soon as we get good one. I have been sick for the entire 16 weeks, so I keep telling that baby they he/she better be very cute ;0) We'll keep you all posted!

Nicholas's Fun Weekend

Nicholas had a fun weekend. He woke up in a goofy mood yesterday, which made breakfast fun. He went to play with his buddy, Eli, in the afternoon. They had a blast riding in Eli's Powerwheels truck :) Nick actually ate 1 whole chicken finger for dinner! That might not seem like a lot, but he has been on a hunger strike recently. Today Nicholas ate a big breakfast and then we headed to the zoo. We saw some animals, played at the park, fed some ducks, and then we went to see the Discovery Animal Show. At the end of the show, Nick was able to pet some of the animals we learned about. He was very excited to pet them (he wants to pet and hold every animal we see at the zoo!). He loves all animals and wasn't afraid of any of them :)

Haircut Time

After keeping his hair shaggy for the winter, we decided it was time to get Nick's hair cut short again. When John went in to get Nicholas in the morning, he was coaching him to not sit in the pink car. So, he would have Nick repeat "Don't sit in the pink car today." When we got to Cookie Cutters, we asked him what he wanted to sit in. He usually goes straight for the red race car, but he stopped at the pink car. I asked if he wanted the red race car and he said, "Daddy likes the pink car." Nicholas did not quite understand what daddy was telling him...haha. So, he had to sit in the pink car (for daddy) yesterday. It had been a while since they had used the clippers on him, and he was not too thrilled with them. Usually, he doesn't care about them. But, as you can tell in one of the pictures, he was not too happy yesterday. He looks like a whole new boy with his new haircut. I think it took a few months off his age ;0)

Nick Update

Here are some pictures from Nicholas at MyGym on Wednesday. He loves "How Do"(he calls it that becuase of the "How Do You Do" song) days. The drive down there is fun with Nick. He points out when he sees one of our 3 cars and pretty much anything else he sees and knows. In fact, he saw a panda on the drive down this week :0) HAHA When we get off the highway at the exit for MyGym, Nicholas says "Almost there!" He really knows his way around town.

Nick's Busy Day

Nicholas had his ear tubes put back in and his adenoids removed today. We have had a long day, so I will try to write more about it soon. I just wanted to get some pics up. Nicholas is doing well, but is still very groggy.

Long Overdue Update!

We have had quite the eventful month in the Prebula household. We were supposed to go on a trip to Maryland on April 1st, but Nicholas had other plans! His ear tubes fell out in March, and he got an ear infection in each ear right before we were scheduled to leave. His doctor suggested that we reschedule the trip because Nick's ears would bug him on the plane. We waited as long as we could...hoping he’d feel better, but had to reschedule.

I had to take Nicholas to the Allergist this month. I was pretty nervous about the appointment because it was scheduled for 2 hours and I was under the impression that they poked him with needles all over his back. I wasn’t too sure how he was going to handle it. But, we needed to get him in. We knew that he was allergic to peanuts because of the reactions he has had from even touching them. I just wanted to see how bad it is. Nicholas has also had weird reactions to cinnamon. Once we got there, they informed me that they only scratch the skin for kids his age. They scratched me with the stick and it wasn’t too bad, but I had no idea what Nick would think. He was doing great playing in the room and watching a movie. He was great when the doctor checked him out on the table. Then, I had to take his shirt off…he freaked out! He threw himself on the floor and was screaming at the top of his lungs. I thought, “Oh great, this is going to be fun!” I eventually got his shirt off and was holding him on the table. I prepared myself for the worst and held his arms to his side. He started to calm down, and then they did the first scratch. Now, I bet all of you are thinking, “Yeah, we know, he cried.” Nope, Nicholas broke out in to hysterical laughter! He was laughing for the entire scratch test. When they were done, he asked for “More!” The doctor said she has never gotten that reaction from any patient, let alone a 2 year old. They tested him for peanuts, cinnamon, and all other tree nuts. They only did 1/10 the strength of peanuts in the scratch test since he has had bad reactions to them already. As we suspected, Nicholas is severely allergic to peanuts and is allergic to most tree nuts. Cinnamon turned up negative, so that is one less. Now I get to carry 2 Epi-Pens (plus his inhaler…I will have to write about that later) with me at all times. Poor little guy, he just can't catch a break :(

Bet you thought there could be no more medical issues with the boy for the month. Wrong! I took Nicholas to the doctor on Monday and he has an ear infection in each ear again and bronchitis! Luckily, we already had an appointment with Nick’s ENT for today. I was hoping that he would say that he would just put tubes back in his ears without waiting for him to get more ear infections. Luckily, that is exactly what he said! Nicholas is going to get another set of tubes put in and his adenoids removed. Of course, we were schedule to go to Maryland next week, so I asked the doctor what he thought of us going. He said that Nicholas cannot fly until he gets his new tubes put in. So, we had to cancel again. One of these days, we’ll make it back!

Hope you like the pictures and videos!!

Easter 2008

Here are some pictures from Easter this year. The Easter Bunny was very good to Nicholas. Nicholas liked his T-ball set the best. He couldn't wait to take it outside and play. He is pretty good at hitting the ball already. He also loves all of his new puzzles. And, of course, he liked the candy too. We still talk about the Easter Bunny and how we can't wait to see him again next year :0)

Easter Egg Hunt

Here are some pictures of Nicholas at an Easter Egg Hunt this year. He had such a fun time running around and picking up the eggs. He really liked the candy that was inside them :0) As you can tell from the last picture, he did not like the Easter Bunny & Lamb too much. He did love the bunny at the mall this year though :0)
