Nicholas & Thomas

Here are some pictures of Nicholas playing in his Thomas the Tank Engine playhut today. He loves to climb in and out and walk all around it. He also pushes it around, which scares poor Jackson. It is one of his favorite new things...thanks again Aunt Cookie & Uncle Dave :0)

Nick's Fun Day

We went to Sky High today with some friends. It is a place with giant inflatable things like the other place we've gone to before. There were about only about 10 people there. So, we pretty much had the place to ourselves. The kids had a blast :0) They especially liked the BIG slides. Nicholas even climbed up the slide himself. He is getting so big and loves to climb everything! It was nice to have padding in case he fell. We need to get some of that for the house ;0) Nick is talking up a storm now. He talks to me the entire car ride (when he is not dumping his juice all over himself!). He loves to ride in the CR-V because he can look out the big windshield. He points at everything he sees and laughs. Pretty much everything is hilarious to him right now. He laughed last week when he was having his ears and pulse checked. His doctor said that is not the usual reaction he gets. Then, Nick laughed the entire time the lady was using the clippers to cut his hair. Again, she said that is not the usual reaction she gets. He was even laughing at a lady eating ice cream in the car next to us the other day. Like I said, EVERYTHING is hilarious to him right now!! He is such a happy little guy.

I am having so much fun watching Nicholas learn new things everyday. He has started to want to help me with things. He tries his best to help me out when I am dressing him. He puts his arms through his sleeves, puts his feet out for me to put his socks on, brings me his shoes, and even helps press the Velcro down! This is a BIG change from a few weeks ago when squirmed the whole time I dressed him!! Nick also likes to help with the laundry and Jackson. When I ask Jackson if he needs to go out, Nick runs to the back door (laughing and squealing, of course) and tries to open it for us. When I tell Nicholas that it is time to go, he’ll being me his shoes if he doesn’t have them on already. Then he heads to the garage door, bangs on it, and tries to open it. When I open the door, he points to the car and squeals. This happens pretty much everyday. I am sure I forgot something, so I will try to write more soon!

Nick's New Word Is...

...TURTLE! Haha Nicholas started repeating "turtle" as he was looking at our turtles last night. It is really cute. He has the emphasis on the end of the word. Tur-TLE :0) I will get a picture of him talking to them soon. Here are some more recent pics of Nick. We have been pretty busy, so it has taken a while to get new pics up. I am still trying to figure out how to get my friend's pictures from our Valentine's Day party saved to my computer. We had 8 of Nick’s friends (and their mommies) over. The pictures are very cute. I will get those up as soon as I can. I will also write more of an update then. I am sure I am forgetting some milestones, so I will put them in the next entry. More soon…

My Valentine's Day Gift :0)

My new Minivan!!!!
HAHA...did anyone fall for that!?
John actually got me a 2007 Honda CR-V :0) If you know John & I pretty well, I bet you are pretty shocked that we have a HONDA…haha! I always pictured myself in a Jeep of some sort. John let me make all the decisions for which car I wanted to get. So, I did all of the research, etc. It was fun! I didn't run into too many salesmen who wanted John to be there to even talk numbers, etc. John went on some test drives, but always let me drive since it was going to be my car. I think that John liked having me make all the decisions and deal with the hassles of choosing a car. In the end, he just had to show up with the money ;0) Since I am getting to keep the Jeep (WAHOOOO!), I started looking at small SUVs. I looked at a lot and decided that the Honda was the best choice. It had the best safety rating, gas mileage, and was the best deal. It was weird to have to consider more than just color this time (the last time John & I each bought cars; we just needed to choose our new color). I took a few weeks to choose and I am so happy with my choice :0) I LOVE my new CR-V. It is nice to have some room to get Nick in and out. There is a lot of space for other things too (not just me & Nicholas:0). Here are some pics of the new car and Nicholas exploring the dealership. They are going to tint the windows and put on better tires & rims. So, I will post some pics of the updated, cooler looking CR-V in a few days :0)

Pics From Gymnastics

Here are some pictures from Nick at his gymnastics class this week.

Nick's New BIG Boy Shoes

I took Nicholas to get some new big boy shoes today. He has been wanting to walk everywhere and we didn't want him to wear Robeez (little leather shoes) out. So, we went to get some tennis shoes. At first we tried Stride Rite, but they want $40+ for baby shoes. Seeing the Nick is going to outgrow then in a month, I decided to head to Payless Kids. Nicholas was not too happy about having his feet measured. Once we figured out he was a size 4, we headed to that shelf. Nick enjoyed pulling shoes off the shelf. He was not too happy when I put the tennis shoes on. He cried and stood there as is his feet were in cement. He put his arms up for me to pick him up. Instead, I lead him down the aisle. Once he realized he could still walk, he took off running around the store. I also found a pair of baby Airwalk shoes that look like Crocs. They will be great this summer. Nicholas is getting used to his new, heavy shoes. He still gets upset when I put them one, but then he takes off running :0) I can't believe he has big boy shoes now! He is growing up so fast!!!

Do you like my new shoes?

Ahhh...let me fix that real quick

Discovery Gateway

We went to Discovery Gateway (a really cool Children’s Museum) with some friends on Saturday. We met up with Morgan, Noah, Gabe, Abigail, & Zach (and their parents too :0). We were all surprised with how many exhibits were geared towards our kids. There were so many fun things for them to do. We played music, played in water, explored a child-sized house, and did some farming. Nicholas and his friends had a blast. It was great for the moms and dads to get out and have some fun too.

I took Nicholas to the doctor yesterday because we thought that he had yet another ear infection. And, he did. So, this makes 6 ear infections since October! Nick’s doctor decided it was time for him to see an ENT so we can set up a time for him to get tubes. Hopefully the tubes will take care of the ear infections for good. The poor little guy has been on so many antibiotics and in so much pain. The ENT couldn’t get us in until March 1st, but I am going to call again tomorrow to see if we can bump it up. If we wait that long, Nicholas will get at least 1 more ear infection the way things have been going. I will keep you updated on that for sure.
John likes his job at Spillman a lot. He is still playing in a basketball league on Mondays. Nicholas likes to go watch the early games. John has also gotten up boarding a few times. I am slowly getting back into my Pampered Chef business. I am so happy that we have met so many great friends through Nick’s classes. We are having so much fun getting to know them. I am having fun planning a Valentine’s Day party for the kids (what can I say; the Kindergarten teacher in me is coming out). I hope to get up boarding soon :0) More soon…

Nicholas at His Finest!

Here is a step-by-step photo spread of Nicholas in the act of stealing! I was just trying to get a picture of Nick and his friend Morgan. Instead, this is what I got. Don't worry; John was taking care of the situation while I shot the evidence! HAHA
Notice Morgan has a ball
Hmmm...interesting. Now look who has the ball!
