Crayon Mustache
Here are some pictures of what happens when Nicholas is done coloring on paper! He gave himself a mustache. I am sure he would have finished the goatee to be just like Daddy if I would not have taken the crayons away. The pictures do not really show the crayon as dark as it was. So, you may need to click on the pictures to enlarge them to see better.

18 Month Photo Shoot
Here are the pictures from Nick's 18 month photo shoot today. I think they turned out pretty cute. He looks like such a big boy now :0( It is crazy how fast the time has gone!
Yeaaaa...Another Box For Nick!
Here are some pictures of Nicholas opening a box from Grandma & Grandpa Beckman :0) He usually gets a big box like this from them every few weeks. Nick loves to get presents (hmmm…know anyone else like that!? HAHA)! His face just lights up when boxes arrive. You can see how excited he is in the first picture. He and Jackson both think that every box is for them (and it usually is). It is so cute to see them looking through the boxes. Nicholas will usually find the toys for Jax (yes, my parents send him something every time:0) and give them to him first. Then, he goes to town digging through the box. He hugs his new things and shows them all to me. When everything is out of the box…all over the floor, Nick will get in the box. He tries to close himself in. Maybe he wants to be mailed to Gretch & Jack? I am sure they would love that :0)
Did ya find them?
Here's what Nick Has Been Up To
I know it has been quite a while since the last post. We have all been busy getting ready for our upcoming family vacation to Disneyland :0) We are all so excited for our trip! Nicholas has been busy learning so many new things. He is learning a least one new word each day. Today it was “cool”. HAHA He really loves to say “coke” and then try to get a sip of Mommy or Daddy’s coke. It is so cool to see him using words for the correct things. I have been trying to teach him “Pooh Bear” & “Mickey Mouse” before the trip. We’re getting there. Nick can bring us an object that we ask for (car, ball, etc.). He loves to drive his cars around making car noises. He is also great at animal noises. He plays an ABC game online that has all kinds of animals. He can do a dog (of course! He even has a Jackson bark and a yippy dog bark!), monkey, elephant, bear, tiger (and all other large cats), iguana, and a few more. We are working on the dolphin with him. I can’t wait for that one!
From the minute Nicholas gets up to the minute he sleeps, he is running around non-stop. He also climbs pretty much anything he can. He has gotten really good at getting himself down off the couch and chairs without falling (phew!). We can tell him he needs to wash his hands, etc. and he goes right to where he needs to go. He has really become “Mommy’s Little Helper”. When I tell him we’re going bye-bye, he helps me get ready to go. He’ll bring me the remote if the TV is on, help get Jackson a treat, grab his Blankie, and go to the garage door and wait. He opens the car door and helps me buckle his seat. He loves to push buttons (oh yes, he does!). He pushes the elevator buttons (he only came close the alarm once so far ;0) and closes the garage door when we get home. I know there is so much more that I want to write, but I’ll save it for another time. Sorry about rambling on, it is just so fun to watch Nick discover new things! And, I think that he is pretty spectacular :0)

Hogle Zoo
Nicole & I took Ara & Nicholas to the zoo on Friday. It wasn't too hot so we thought it would be a good day to go. Apparently, everyone else thought it would be a good day to go too! We got there at 2:00 and it was slammed. I have never seen our zoo that crowded! It was hard to let Nicholas get down and walk with people everywhere. I really wanted to see "The Ghost of the Bayou" (a white alligator) that is only here for a short time. You could not take strollers in the exhibit. Nick did not enjoy waiting in line and not being able to run around. So, we got a short glimpse at the alligator. I didn't even get to get any pictures (in fact, I didn't get to take too many pictures at all!). We'll have to go back when it is less crowded (so, on a Sunday) so we can really enjoy "The Ghost of the Bayou".
