Nick's Fun Weekend

We had a fun weekend. On Saturday, Nicholas was having a blast pretending to drive the Firebird. I posted a video below of him driving and making beeping sounds. When it was time to go out, Nicholas wanted to take the "Fird" not the Honda. Nick had a yummy Happy Meal for lunch. He loves his fries & Chicken Nuggets. Gee...who does he take after!? Actually, he loves peas and other vegetables, so everyone jokes that he eats more of a varierty food than I do. He has discovered ketchup now. He likes it more and more each time he has it. He also likes to dip my food for me. He takes such good care of me ;0) After lunch, we did a little Christmas shopping and went to a park. Nicholas loved getting out and running around. He even got to see a dog, which pretty much made his day. Since it was so nice again on Sunday, we went to another park. We also did some final shopping for our trip home this Wednesday. We are staying with my parents this trip. They are very excited to see Nicholas (and John & I...I guess ;0) and have him stay with them. It is so nice for us that Jack loves to take Nick in the morning and we get to sleep in!! We already have lots of fun things planned for our short trip home.

New Pics of Nicholas

Here are some recent pictures of Nicholas. He loves his new "George" shoes. He either has to be wearing his "George" slippers or sneakers. He is so funny in the car now. He is always talking and pointing out things to me. As we're driving along I hear, "Look Mommy...a car!", "Look Mommy...a bird!", Look Mommy...a tree!". It is so cute. He had another fun gymnastics class today. He should be up any minute, so I will have to write more later.

Gymnastics Class 11/8 ***Updated with Video***

Nicholas had a fun time at his gymnastics class today. They had a "car wash" which involved a lot of bubbles. And, anyone that knows Nicholas, knows that he LOVES bubbles!!! So, he stood right in front of the fan that was blowing the bubbles. He got soaked, but loved it. Then, he did the monkey bars and hung all by himself. That is the video at the bottom of this entry. Other than that, he ran around like a mad man. I am so thankful for his gymnastics classes. It is so nice to have a place for him to run around and get his energy out.

We are flying home to Maryland for Thanksgiving this year. This will be Nicholas's last free flight. After he is 2, we'll have to pay full-price for him. It is very hard for me to believe that in a month my little baby boy will be 2 years old! I am not really looking forward to 5 hours on a plane with Nicholas. The boy can’t sit still longer than 5 seconds! Luckily, Grandpa Beckman will be on the other end to take over :0) I also plan on taking tons of new toys, Curious George DVDs, and a big bag of lollipops to try to keep him entertained. If you hear about a plane having to make an emergency landing due to an unruly toddler the day before Thanksgiving…you’ll know it was us ;0) We have a pretty busy weekend ahead of us. Nick’s friend, Noah, is having his 2nd birthday party. Then, Jackson & Nicholas have pictures with Santa on Sunday. I will be sure to take lots of pictures.

Nick's 2nd Halloween

Nicholas had a super fun 2nd Halloween. I had been trying to get Nick to wear his shark costume for a few weeks before Halloween. He didn’t like it at all. He cried the whole time is was on. Then, I learned to bribe him with a “lolli” to get him to keep it on. They had trick-or-treating at John’s office on Halloween. An hour or so before we needed to leave, I had Nicholas put his costume on. He loved it! He was riding his zebra and running all around in it. He didn’t want to take it off when he got in the car. Once we got to John’s office, Nick wanted his costume back on. When we got inside, he was already saying “trick-or-treat”. So, after weeks and weeks of trying to get him to wear his costume and say “trick-or-treat”, he finally did both at the right moment. Nicholas loved trick-or-treating at Daddy’s office. Everyone loved his shark costume. I think he was the cutest one there :0)

We were thinking of not taking Nick out trick-or-treating since it was going to be so cold. But, since he loved it so much at John’s office, we decided to take him out. Even before we got out of the house, he was wild. He didn’t even have any candy; he was just high on the Halloween spirit. Once we got him outside, he was running so fast that he was falling over. He run up to the door and try to open it. When the people came to the door, he’d say “Trick-or-Treat!” and hold out his pumpkin pail. Then, he’d say it again and point at their candy bowl for more. Then, he’d start running to the next house. It was so fun to watch him having such a blast. If you listen real close, you can hear him say “trick-or-treat” in the video below :0) When we came in, he started handing out the candy. He loved his job. He even tried chasing the kids down the steps to give them more candy. Nicholas had such a fun 2nd Halloween :0)
The day after Halloween, Nick wanted to put his costume on when it was time to leave the house. We had to take his pumpkin pail with us in the car as a compromise. He even still says “trick-or-treat” when he takes a treat out of the bowl. He is already looking forward to next year!

Aunt Missy's Visit

Nick's Aunt Missy came for a visit. She flew in on Sunday (10/28) and left yesterday (10/31). While she was here we went up to Snowbird. We rode the tram and played in some snow on the top. We also went to Wheeler Farm. We fed some ducks and saw the farm animals. Nicholas was really excited to see the ducks, but got a bit scared when the geese honked at him. He saw a little girl feeding a pig a leaf, so he decided to do it too. That is the video on this entry. We also went to MyGym and Nick stayed on the ball pit most of the time. We had a fun visit with Aunt Missy :0)
