Daddy Trying to Feed Nicholas :0)

Here are some pictures from John trying to feed Nicholas yesterday. Nick’s high chair cover was in the wash, so John had to try to feed him in his bouncer. Nicholas is getting goofier and goofier by the day, so he was really hamming it up for his Daddy! It was pretty entertaining to watch :0) Of course, I took out the camera and started taking pictures for you all to enjoy!! I was finally able to get a pretty good shot of Nick's teeth :0)

6 Month Photo Shoot

Here are some of the pictures from Nick’s month photo shoot. He did so well for the entire session :0) Some of these were sent off to Sears for their “modeling” contest. You may walk into a Sears anywhere across the country and see our little Nicholas very soon. We are also getting ready for Nicholas and Jackson to go get there pictures taken to be in Old Navy ads and possibly commercials (hopefully! But, once they see them, how could they not put them both on TV!?). We will be doing that in early July. I’ll keep you updated on all of this!! We are still trying to get a picture with Nick showing off his new teeth. More soon…

Finally! We Have...

TEETH!!!

Nick’s first 2 teeth broke through today!! They are the middle two on the bottom. He’s growing up WAY too fast, but he sure looks cute :0) We’ve had quite the week. Nicholas was up all night our first 2 nights back in Utah. At first, we just thought it was just the teething. But, then he got real moody and wasn’t eating. He just was not himself. So, I took him to the Pediatrician on Wednesday. Turns out that Nicholas had an ear infection and a virus that was causing sores in his mouth! No wonder he wasn’t eating!! So, Nick was put on Amoxicillin and alternating Motrin and Tylenol every 4 hours. Add all of this to the fact that his teeth were very close to breaking through and we had one fun week! I think I have had a total of 2 hours of sleep!! Hopefully, he’ll sleep a little bit better tonight since one of his issues has been resolved :0) We tried and tried to get a picture of the new teeth, but Nicholas wasn't having it. So, I posted some other ones from this week. I'll post pics of the new teeth as soon as we can get a good shot! Just a little warning...Nicholas has his 6 month appointment (complete with shots and all) this Tuesday! So, check the Blog this week for a traumatic entry!!

Trip Back to Utah

On our last day, my parents took us to the airport. Nicholas was hamming it up with Grandpa as usual!! We got to the airport a little later than planned. We made it to the gate just as they started to board the plane. Nicholas was much better behaved in line this time (oh MAN!!). We heard that there were only 5 open seats on the plane. John & I were prepared to have someone sitting next to us. Then, almost as it was planned, Nicholas started screaming at the top of his lungs right when we sat down (good boy :0)! So, everyone boarding the plane got to hear and see Nick in all his glory!! Needless to say, we got the whole row to ourselves again :0) Nicholas slept for most of the plane trip and woke up a little bit before we landed. On the way out, he slept on the take off and landing so he hadn’t experienced his ears bothering him. The descent and landing bothered him a bit, but it wasn’t too bad.
Nick was SO excited to get back to our house, especially his room! I put him in his crib and he rolled around smiling and squealing for the longest time. He was also very excited to see his big brother again :0) We are working on getting back into our routine now. Which, of course includes his 6 month photo shoot tomorrow :0) We can see Nick’s first 2 teeth, so I hope that means that they’ll be here soon (he has been teething for months now!!). He is also VERY close to crawling. He’s gotten even closer just in the few days that we’ve been home!!! AHHHH I can tell he’s going to be all over the place once he is completely mobile!! Look out world...here comes Nicholas :0) I’ll keep you updated on things! Well, I think that I have posted enough entries for a bit!! I’m going to take a break now!! More soon…

Nicholas & His Bud Maddie

We stayed with the Edgleys (our good friends, well family really :0) while we were in Maryland. Nicholas really loves Jackson and all other dogs now. He gets so excited when dogs are around him. The Edgleys have the cutest Golden Retriever, Maddie. Nicholas and Maddie became best buds very quickly. Maddie was always looking for Nicholas around the house and vice versa :0) Nick just got the biggest smile when Maddie was around! He would pet her and talk to her. Our last night there, he rolled around on the floor squealing for hours showing off for everyone, mainly Maddie! Here are some pictures from that night.

Nick's First Time Swimming

John took Nicholas swimming for the first time when we were in Maryland. Nick didn’t really seem to care either way about swimming. At least he didn’t scream! He kicked his legs and laughed when John swam around with him. Nicholas got cold pretty quick, so he had a short swim. But, he looked way cute in his stylish new bathing suit from his Grandma Cookie :0) He also loved to watch his Daddy jump in and swim in the pool from the deck with his Grandpa Beckman :0) I hope that Nicholas is a water baby like I was because I plan on taking him swimming a lot this summer! I will take pictures each and EVERY time for your enjoyment :0)

Nick's Visit with Carter :0)

Our friends Vicki & Mark had a son, Carter, in October of 2005. So of course, we took Nicholas to meet his new friend! Carter has an older sister Ashley who will be 3 in July. Vicki & Mark were kind enough to let us borrow EVERYTHING we needed for our trip home so we didn’t have to lug it across the country!! It worked out so nicely for us (thanks again :0)!! We only got to visit for a few minutes, but it was great to catch up :0) Quite a few people have suggested that Nick & I come home again this summer (Can anyone guess who wants that happen the most!? Could it be my Dad!?). I am considering it since Nicholas traveled pretty well. I think that I could handle the flight with Nick myself, but I don’t know if John can handle me taking his son away for too long. So, I’ll keep you posted on that!

Visit with Aunt Cookie & Uncle Dave

We took a mini vacation within our trip home. We went to visit my Aunt Cookie & Uncle Dave (Grandma Cookie & Grandpa Dave to Nicholas :0) at Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia. It is so beautiful and relaxing there! We jet skied, water skied, and took Nick on the boat. I even got to take a trip to the Dudley Mart with Aunt Cookie…words cannot even describe that experience :0) We had dinner on the porch each night and watched the sunset. Nicholas loved his boat ride! He liked to look at the water trail off the end of the boat. We really enjoyed our time there!!

When Nicholas ATTACKS!!!

We took Nicholas to meet his “cousin” Brennan. Brennan is 3 months old now. All night Nicholas was rolling all over the place, even over Brennan. Nicholas is also teething so he was chewing on anything he could…including Brennan!!! And Nicholas is also in his grabbing phase, so he was grabbing everything he could get his hands on! This of course, included poor Brennan!! We did allow Brennan to get some payback at the end of the night :0) I hope that this visit was not a glance into the future with my son as a bully…AHHHH!!!

Nick with Uncle Bill & Aunt Lauren...the end of the photo shoot

One of the main reasons we went home was to celebrate John’s grandparents 65th Anniversary with them :0) Their anniversary was Sunday, June 4th. There was a brunch at “The Farm” and Nicholas was quite the hit. He didn’t seem to mind being passed around too much, which was nice for John and I. We decided to have a family photo shoot, which Nick was cooperative for most of. Oh yeah, my parents were at their NASCAR race in Delaware the day of the party…that is why they are not in the family pictures.

Plane Trip to Maryland

Here are some pictures from the plane trip to Maryland. Nicholas had the biggest temper tantrum we have ever seen as we were pre-boarding the plane!! So, the entire plane got to see who was screaming! We had never heard him scream that loud or act so crazy. Needless to say, we had the only open seat on the plane next to us :0) Nick slept on the take-off and landing and was only up for a bit during the flight. We had prepared ourselves for the worst, so it was much better than we expected. Nicholas was glad to get off the plane and his Grandpa & Grandma Beckman were even more excited to see him come through the gate :0) I think it took less than a second for my dad to have Nicholas out of his Baby Bjorn carrier!!

Father's Day Pictures

Here are some pictures from Nick’s Father’s Day photo shoot. We took in things that John and the grandfathers like :0) Yes, everyone has gotten their Father's Day presents that have these pictures.
